From Logos to Unique Brochure Designs: What Colors Should You Choose?
Branding your company properly is one of the first and most important steps any business can take when coming up with a marketing plan. When you’re designing your logo, or drafting up your next unique brochure design, there’s something to keep in mind: the psychology of color.
Just like smelling something familiar can take you back to a certain memory, seeing different colors evokes an emotional response. There have been numerous studies over the years to determine which colors have what effect on people, and the data can be used effectively in marketing.
It’s more than saying yellow is a “happy” color, or green makes people think of money. Colors represent your brand just as much as the logo itself. For example, do you market more to men or women? Far more women than men respond to the color purple. Are you trying to convey something youthful? Shades of red do the trick. Something dependable – stick with blue.
Take a look at the logos and marketing material of some of your favorite brands – there is a reason Coca Cola is red and Lowe’s is blue. Logos that include every color of the rainbow likely appeal to the masses.
So when you’re trying to come up with your unique brochure design, or picking a color template for your website, remember colors can be persuasive and work in your favor.
